Mexican radio stations, including RMX, WRadio and Ibero, joined forces to "uplift" the country with one song following President Donald Trump's executive order on the border wall.
The chosen song was Caifanes' "Aquí no es así," and it was programmed to play on different stations at the same time on Jan. 27. The idea behind the "#TO2unidos" campaign was to show "unity, solidarity, rejecting blackmail and apathy," Gonzalo Oliveros, coordinator at RMX, said in an interview with The Huffington Post Mexico.
After giving much thought to which track to use for the campaign, "Aquí no es así" seemed like the perfect feel-good, inspiring song for the occasion. "We couldn't choose songs like 'Somos más americanos' (Los Tigres del Norte) or 'Frijolero' (Molotov), because it would've seemed like we were trying to attack the North American community; that was not the case at all."
