Third No. 1 in a Row for Arcade Fire on U.K. Albums Chart With 'Everything Now'
publish date: 2017-08-04
Arcade Fire have their third consecutive U.K. No. 1 album, as Everything Now (Columbia/Sony) debuts at the top. The success of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's “Despacito” single (Interscope/Universal) goes on and on, as it moves into an 11th non-consecutive week at the summit.
A solid 36,000 in combined sales secured the top spot for Everything Now, according to the Official Charts Company. That was twice the weekly tally of Ed Sheeran's ÷ (Asylum/Warner), which climbs back 3-2. Arcade Fire previously ruled the U.K. charts with The Suburbs in 2010 and Reflektor in 2013.
Rag 'n' Bone Man's Human (Best Laid Plans/Columbia/Sony Music), which last week dipped beneath the top five after 23 consecutive weeks, rebounds 6-3. Last week's new entry at No. 1, Lana Del Rey's Lust for Life (Polydor/Universal), falls to No. 4.
